US ARMY GOLDEN KNIGHTS
How It Started
In 1959, the Russians dominated sport parachuting. To beat them, the US Army needed a team of its own.
On October 12th, 1959 – seven Airborne Soldiers were gathered to form the Strategic Army Command Parachute Team. Also known as the STRAC Team.
Two years later – a larger and more talented group – they were renamed The US Army Parachute Team. And eventually nicknamed The Golden Knights.
